Doing Something Good

From time to time you will hear me rant about how people are documenting online the stupid things that we do every day. Future generations will have the best idea of our antics.

The other day, I was talking to one of my friends I made through the Irish Man, BR. BR is retired Army for 22 years and has made a good living helping people by buying old lockers from people that have defaulted on storage space and selling the items out individually (more about this in the ADD plan). Sometimes it pays big, other times not so much. One of the items he got in a lock for $300, was a really nice table that is currently being auctioned off for min $3000.

But I digress, I spoke to BR the other day and he mentioned that he just bought another house. He had been looking for an investment like this one for a bit but in our challenging times in the housing market, it was taking a while to find something worth it. Long story short, the people that lived in the house were the owners that were in the middle of a foreclosure. They were paying $2700 a month for the house (4 bed / 2 bath) and the rates went up to $4300. They werent able to afford it, thus the foreclosure. BR was able to buy the house and decided to charge the current people $2300 for rent. The people didnt have to move out of their properly and BR made a profit.

Doing good buy doing well?
